MAID OF HONOUR

Jen’s daughter who has shed the nickname “baby Annie” since she’s already 18 much to Jen’s mum sadness. Haha. Helpful in keeping us informed on Gen Z terms, brutal in telling Jen if what she’s wearing is too “like a mom”. Dylan and her laugh and play a lot together. Sometimes they gang up on Jen when she’s irritable. She’s constantly teaching Dylan and Jen how to be good parents. Great kid. Best kid.

MATRON OF HONOUR

She’s actually not going to be in Palawan so why is she even here. HAHA but kidding aside—Jen’s absolute best friend who, even through the distance, has shown how love, random text messages, and a shared hatred for ugly shoes is all that matters. She’s decided that going to the Palawan wedding is not important because she’d rather fly to Australia to attend the wedding there. Beautiful soul. She’s the reason Jen smiles a lot more.

BEST MAN

Dylan’s best mate. Has seen Dylan in his most punk rock past life. From wreaking havoc in the school grounds, they’ve now progressed to hanging out at the apartment criticising movies, watching Rick and Morty, Cobra Kai and Mr In Between, and researching the Drake and Kendrick feud until 2 in the morning. Our constant camping buddy. Dylan and Jen tested his patience by going on a month-long road trip to Queensland with him. How he survived our bickering, no one knows. Must be all the beer.

BRIDESMAID

Jen’s sister. She’s the more cheerful daughter growing up. Before Zoe arrived, she was the subject of all of Jen’s photographs. They used to take random photoshoots together because why not? There are heaps of videos of them singing to broadway songs and random photo booth selfies.

GROOMSMAN

Dylan’s best mate and is the kindest and funniest person we surround ourself with and he doesn’t even know it. It’s just innately who he is. Known to have purchased flowers on Valentine’s Day back when they were in high school so he could give it to all the girls so no one feels lonely that day. Jen has never met anyone who thinks and operates in almost the same way as Dylan does, until she met Andy. If he was in the movie ‘Inside Out’, he would be Joy.

BRIDESMAID

Dylan and Jen met Jess when she started dating Andy. A lover of books, tea, and gardening, Jen and her got along right away. Although the most pivotal moment of their friendship is a night they’d much rather not repeat ever again. It involved tequila shots and an earring stuck in Jess’ hair all night. Jess and Jen share their love for cooking, plants, and cute cafes. Will take time out of her important job to catch up with you. She’s topnotch.

GROOMSMAN

Jen met Karan back when they were both broke UNSW students. Not only has he now become a constant in Dylan and Jen’s life, but he’s also their neighbour and gym buddy. They say you become who you surround yourself with. While Dylan and Jen still can’t wake up constantly at 5AM to go to the gym, we are constantly inspired by Karan’s determination to do so. HAHA. He was there holding two phones while Dylan proposed to Jen at a waterfall. We consider him, his fiance Eve, and their two doggos family.

BRIDESMAID

Before mobile phones were a thing, Kara and Jen were already spending hours on the phone talking about boys and their dreams. They were best friends in 4th Grade through to high school. Her second name is ‘Franchesca’. Jen got Zoe’s third name from her—Francesca. She is Zoe’s godmother. Kara has literally seen Jen at her worst. They have a shared love for books since then and until now. Jen considers her a kindred soul.

BRIDESMAID

Maybe one of the reasons why Jen approached Zena during her first day in high school was because she had a calm demeanour. She is Jen’s first adventure buddy. From road trips to La Union to riding camels in Stockton Beach, their adventures are now bigger since Zena moved to New Zealand. Hanging out with her is like taking a chill pill. She is Zoe’s godmother and has been a constant in Zoe’s life.
